"He's A Pirate"- from Pirates of the Caribbean
Zimmer really captures the adventures in Pirates of the Caribbean in this theme, with a very lively melody and percussion. From 0:44- 0:59 he captures some of the more scenic qualities of life on the high seas, before returning to the rowdy pirate theme at 1:00.
"King of Pride Rock" from The Lion King
This song was featured in one of the most powerful scenes in The Lion King, and definitely managed to complement the desolate, scary landscape from 0:00 to 1:45, while also meshing well with the bright vista from 1:46 onwards.
"Time" from Inception
Much like the movie, "Time" is a very thought-provoking, mysterious yet wonderful song. Zimmer incorporates some of the spontaneity in dreams into the melody, which also comes and goes very much like dreams. The overall effect of the song adds a sense of wonder, alarm and power to a series of images which would otherwise not fit well together. Some of the sweeping shots of amazing (dream) landscapes and cityscapes are very compatible with the soundtrack. I highly recommend seeing this movie if you haven't, and you'll be able to see just how perfectly written the soundtrack is.
Soundtrack from the Dark Knight Trilogy
The Dark Knight is action packed, and Zimmer's theme here once again complements the many intense scenes in all three movies; explosions, car chases etc. The picture below also should give an idea of the film's intensity and how that would've also influenced Zimmer's compositional choices.
